Diane Larkin dedicated her life to being a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Although she is gone her memory shines in the hearts of all who knew her. To honor her love and support of her own children and their education, this will mark the second year a scholarship in her name will be given at Braintree High School. The scholarship will help a Braintree High School student who has endured a loss of their own. There is no better way to pay tribute to her legacy than for our family to help another family lighten an already heavy burden. The costs of continuing education for high school seniors can be daunting and paying for education without the financial support of two parents can become overwhelming. The goal of our scholarship fund will be to identify a student at Braintree High School who lost a parent and help them towards their goal of continuing their education. The Diane Larkin Scholarship will be presented in May at the Braintree High School Scholarship Night. To raise money for the scholarship a Bowlathon and Benefit have been planned for May 3, 2014. The Bowlathon will take place over two timeslots; the first from 12pm-2pm and the second from 2pm-4pm. The event will take place at Union Street Lanes which is located at 231 Union St, Holbrook, MA 02343. Following the Bowlathon a Benefit will be held at the Great Pond Manor, 120 Bay State Drive, Braintree, MA 02184 from 5pm-10pm. Raffles will be sold and prizes distributed throughout the night. The cost of attending both events will be $50 and people who can only bowl or make it to the benefit will be asked to donate $25.  Small children will bowl for free.  We are seeking donations to assist in raising money for the Diane Larkin Scholarship Fund. There are many worthy charitable causes out there. This cause will not fund research or help masses of people. It will however find a real Braintree High School student who deserves to catch a break. Your donation will make a difference in one young person’s life.
